The Princess Ball

Our Stake had a Princess Ball for all the girls and their dads. Ari and Dev have been counting down the days for this activity. They spent the day (actually the past few days) getting ready and practicing their dance moves.

One Week

I cant believe that Benson is already one week. Everything is going well. We just need to work on the feedings. Last night he pulled his feeding tube out. We were able to see his face with nothing on it for the first time since he was born.

Here are a couple pictures from yesterday. He is looking a lot better. He is off the oxygen and they moved his IV to his foot. He is also getting food from not only his IV but from the feeding tube. Yesterday he drank a small amount from a bottle. It wasn't much but we were excited.

Baby

So the amnio test came back on Saturday and there were traces of lung development. Because the risk of infection was a good one, the doctor decided to induce me. We started everything around noon and the little guy was born at 6:30pm. We aren't 100% on the name yet but we have to decide by nonish tomorrow so I will tell once we can figure that out. He was born at 32 weeks and 4 days. He weighed 3 lbs. 14 oz. and 16 inches long. Overall he is doing amazing. I dont know how long he'll be in the NICU. The doctor says 2-3 weeks but nothing is for certain. Everything is going very well and we are excited for that. I will keep everyone updated.

More Hospital

For those of you who wanted an update. Sorry no pictures. Last Wednesday morning, early, Nate woke me up and when I did I realized that my water broke. I still cant believe it. It is the exact same thing that happened with Dev except a week earlier. So we dropped the kids off at the Burtenshaws (thanks guys and thanks for the cinnamon rolls) and went to the hospital.When we got to the hospital they told us that they didn't admit anyone under 32 weeks so I was lucky enough to get an ambulance ride to another hospital. I have been here ever since. On Tuesday I reached the 32 week mark which is really good. We have had a few little scares dealing with the low fluid and contractions but overall everything is going well. I am finishing up a series of antibiotics and I also received the steroid shots the first couple days I was here. They are checking the amniotic fluid tomorrow for the lung development. The most common reasons for me to deliver are if I go into labor (which is unlikely) or there is infection(which is most likely).

The girls are doing really well. They were worried at first but my wonderful mom came into town and they couldn't be happier. Ryanne came into town the other day also. The girls aren't allowed to come into my room because of Swine flue and RSV but I have been able to go out to the waiting room to see them a few times. Yesterday I asked Dev, Do you want mommy to came home?" She said "yes" but Ari said, "No mom it's OK you can stay here." I think that she is afraid that my mom will leave if I come home. And as Ryanne wheeled me off to my room Devynn started crying but she wasn't crying for me. She was crying Ryannes name and reaching for her. Nate told me that they were eating A big thanks to my Mom and Ryanne! There is nothing more comforting knowing that the girls are happy and cared for. Also, a big thanks to Dad and Ben for letting their wives come.
