Devynn

This has been a pretty busy week and for some reason I have taken a lot of pictures of the girls, so each of them have their own post.
Devynn is my wild girl. Sometimes I wonder if she is part animal.

Right now we are training out dog not to bit. There is only one problem... Dev loves to get bit. Her poor arms have bite marks all over them. Its crazy but she really likes it. She gets the dog all wound up and them runs across the yard.

This picture was taken Tuesday night. We called the girls in for dinner, this is where we found Devynn. She does this type of thing all the time. You would think that it was summer or something. She was so cold but so happy.

Here is one of my favorite pictures of Dev.

Benson update. This week week we took Benson to the pediatric gastroenterologist because he isn't gaining weight. There is a number of things that can be causing this. We also talked to the nutritionist and are upping the calories in his bottle. If he isn't gaining significant weight then they are going to have to but a feeding tube back in. He really seems to be doing better but we will see what the scale says this week.

Ari

This week Ari and I were talking again about getting old and dying. With 3 people in our family dying in the passed month and a half this discussion comes up a lot.
Ari- "Mom, I really really don't want to get old."
Me- "Ari. you have nothing to worry about for a long long time. Besides getting old isn't that bad."
Ari- "Well it doesn't seem too fun."
Then she pauses and starts to smile.
Ari- "The ONLY reason I would ever want to get old is so that I could look in the mirror and laugh at myself. I am going to look so weird."

Ari definitely loves fashion. It is not necessary what is really in fashion but what she thinks looks amazing. We are usually late because she is trying to find the right shoes or accessories. Here is one of her creations. (This one isn't actually too bad).
This week Ari started pick Benson up. I set the little man down in the family room and find him a few minutes later in the play room. She is so good to him.
Here is a fashion disaster. Ari had a T-ball game and she refused to wear her sliding pants because they looked too ugly. She wanted her black stretch pants with her green high tops and bows. It wasn't' worth fighting over, and besides Nate was taking her to the game.

On Friday night we were lucky enough to have the Burtenshaw kids over. We had a great time them. (Don't ask what Ari is wearing...so scandalous)

We got out two twin mattresses so they could watch a movie. (franki-have have many more pictures for you).

Pictures of the childrens and a Nasty story

Yesterday was very historic for Benson. It was the first day he wore a 0-3 month outfit. I have been so excited for him to fit into this size. So exciting.

Here are the girls holding him.

Now this next story is probably so passed inappropriate for the blog but I am going to go for it. I may take it off after I come to my senses. Well many of you know my girls are intrigued by anything bathroom related. It is disgusting but true. If they are in the bathroom, there is a 99% chance that something terrible is going on. I cannot leave toilet paper in there because they get it wet and throw it to the wall, they used an entire roll to wrap the dog in it, they were taking a bath and put 1 and a half rolls in there (that was really hard to get out) and that is all I will mention right now.
Anyways, to the story. (Warning: Do Not read if you cant handle really really gross things.) A couple nights ago I was rocking Benson and Nate was at a church meeting. The girls were suppose to be in bed, it was late. I heard Ari talking to Devynn, she said, "Dev you have got to see this QUICK and be quiet so mom doesn't hear." I then heard them run to the bathroom and giggle fairly quietly. I had to know what was going on so I walked into the bathroom. The girls did not look at me they just walked out quickly without saying a word. They had definitely done something. So I looked around and saw a ladle handing on the bathtub. I looked in the ladle and it was full of pee. So gross. I don't know what to do with them. The saddest part of the whole thing was when I went in their room to talk to them. When they do stuff like this I always have to prep myself mentally (I usually think of something sad or frustrating). This time I didn't prepare very well, I walked in their room and started laughing, so I had to walk out of their room. Nate tried to take care of it when he got home but he is worse than I am. It's completely ridiculous, why would anyone think to do that? I really need to work on this mom thing because I find myself laughing way to much. Be aware if we ever come to our house and serve you with this ladle.

19 weeks

I haven't done a very good job at posting pictures of Benson. His sisters are always fighting for the spotlight. He is exactly 19 weeks today. He continues to grow and is a very good baby. Here are a couple pictures. I will try to get some better ones up soon.

Rainy Day

Today it rained like CRAZY and it is still raining and there is a tornado watch AND our power went out for 1 1/2 hour. Didn't love the power outage, Nate was at a church meeting. Most know that I am deathly afraid of the dark. It didn't help that the girls were screaming and scared. They were saying things like, " I just heard footsteps", or "I heard something say, oooooooo". OR "I just saw glowing eyes". They are worse than I am.

The girls really love the rain.

Ari practicing her jump split. (As you can see flexibility doesn't run in the family.)

The Power Outage.

The funeral

We went to New Mexico a couple weeks ago for my Great Grandpa's funeral. My parents flew down to Phoenix and rented a van and we all drove over. We actually had a great time and it is always good to see family.
These pictures are taken at the grave yard in Hope, NM. It's very old and many family members have been buried there. The girls thought this was the best They walked the entire grave yard and they wanted me to read every head stone.
On a side note: This was a very educational trip for the girls. When we were explaining getting buried both girls started cracking up. Ari said, "You mean we are going to bury Grandpa like we buried Ben at the beach, with his head sticking out." They just kept laughing. Maybe that was inappropriate to share but we thought it was funny.

Some more pictures

Ari is playing T-ball. I think that she enjoys it. If you ask Ari she only says that it makes her really tired. At first she wouldn't wear the pants but we told her that they looked like Jasmin's pants. Now she loves them.

Never a bad hair day when bows are involved.

Some mornings when the girls are feeling extra creative, they like to put every bow they think is beautiful in their hair. This morning Ari said, "Mom, I wish my hair looked like this everyday. I look really good!" Honestly I do not prefer ALL of the bows but this is definitely one thing that isn't worth arguing over. Besides, it makes them happy and they think that they look really awesome. They are so funny.
Dev had to wear a pin also. I love it!!
